Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Introduction

Unclogged Gutters ("we," "our," or "us") operates the uncloggedgutters.com website. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services. By using Unclogged Gutters, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide: When you book a service, create an account, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, service address, and payment information.

Automatically collected: We collect device information, browser type, IP address, pages visited, and interaction data through cookies and similar technologies. We use these strictly for site functionality and analytics.

Photographs of your property. Our crews photograph the work area before and after a job — gutters, roofline, downspouts and the ground around them. These are taken so we can show you what was done, resolve any dispute about the condition we found or left, and support a warranty claim. Photographs of the exterior of your home are personal information, and we treat them as such.

How We Use Your Data

We use your information to: process and fulfill service bookings; communicate scheduling, confirmations, and updates; process payments and refunds; improve our platform and services; comply with legal obligations; and prevent fraud.

Job Photographs and Publishing

By default your photographs are private. They are visible to you, to the crew who did the work, and to our staff. They are not published anywhere public unless you specifically say we may.

How we ask. After the job, we email you a link showing the actual pictures taken at your home and ask whether we may use them publicly — in our online gallery and in advertising. Hiring us is not permission; the two are separate, and only a deliberate yes on that page changes anything. If we never hear from you, the answer stays no.

What we publish if you agree. The photographs and the city. Never your name, your street address, your contact details, or anything else that identifies you or locates your home.

Changing your mind. Use the same link at any time to switch back to private — the link does not expire and you do not need an account. We remove the photographs from our public pages when you do. Copies already downloaded or reshared by third parties are outside our control, which is a good reason to decide before agreeing rather than after.

Saying no costs you nothing. It does not affect your price, your service, your warranty, or your ability to book again.

Third-Party Services

We share data with trusted third-party providers that help us operate our platform:

Stripe processes payments securely. Your payment details are handled directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Supabase provides our database and authentication infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Google Maps is used for address verification, routing, and service area calculations.

Twilio sends appointment and job-status text messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.

Resend / SendGrid deliver booking confirmations, receipts, and other transactional email.

Google (Gemini API) powers the AI features described in the next section.

Google Analytics and advertising pixels (Google Ads, Meta) measure how the site is used and how ads perform. These load only after you accept cookies — analytics and advertising storage are denied by default. Google keeps this data for 2 months (event-level) and 14 months (user-level). Before anything is sent, we cut page addresses and referring links down to campaign tags only — so your service address, your booking link and any account token never reach Google.

Sentry records technical errors so we can fix them. It is not used to profile individual visitors.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

AI and Automated Processing

We use AI to help run the business. The model provider is Google (Gemini API); we do not run our own models, and text sent for processing is not used to train Google's models under the paid API terms.

Where it touches your data. Booking and quote records are used to prioritise incoming enquiries, suggest pricing, and draft marketing copy. Free-text you send us — a note on a booking, an email — may be included so a reply can respond to what you actually wrote.

What it does not do. AI does not set the price you are charged, approve or deny a booking, or make any decision with a legal or similarly significant effect on you. A person is responsible for every customer-facing outcome and can override anything the system suggests.

To ask what has been processed this way, or to request that yours is not, contact us using the details below.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Booking records and transaction data are retained for up to seven years to comply with tax and legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us.

Job photographs are kept for two years after the job, which covers the warranty period and the window in which a dispute about the work is realistically raised. After that they are deleted. You can ask us to delete yours sooner — see Your Rights below — and we will, unless an open dispute or insurance claim depends on them, in which case we will tell you so and delete them once it closes.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. While no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, we strive to protect your information using commercially reasonable means.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; object to or restrict processing; request data portability; and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

For job photographs there is a direct route. The link we email you after the job lets you withdraw publishing permission yourself, and file a deletion request for the photographs from the same page — no account and no waiting on an inbox. We record the request when you file it, and a person actions it; we do not erase records automatically on a link click, because that is not a mistake anyone can undo.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
